Andrew Lincoln's final episode in the AMC zombie series The Walking Dead just aired today. Don't worry, we're not spoiling anything about whether the beloved deputy sheriff died in the show or not, but there's one thing the showrunners want you to know before you riot: "This is not going to be the end of Rick Grimes' story"!
TWD has announced that three spin-off movies are in the works and will have Andy in its cast. “We’re going to continue telling Rick Grimes’ story in a series of AMC original films. There’s a lot of story to tell," writer Scott Gimple said in a report. “It’s going to show a different corner of the world. It’s going to show a different situation that Rick is involved in. These are going to be shown on AMC, but they are going to have the scope of featured films. And we’re going to be seeing an epic story told over years."
He added that they're also looking for more sequels featuring other departed characters. “You’re going to see characters that are dead and gone…we’re going to see different stories of future characters…we’re going to see all around the world. We’re going to see the past, the future…”
Ricktatorship will be missed. Also, the emotional latest episode shows return appearances from previous cast like Jon Bernthal, Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz and the last Scott Wilson.
