ARIANA GRANDE Sings About Her Exes In New Song "Thank U, Next"
Just two months after releasing her fourth album Sweetener, Ariana Grande has already dropped the track "thank u, next" off her upcoming record.
The song's title is a phrase she and her friend Victoria Monét often use, as Complex notes. As Ari clarified via Twitter, it’s not a diss track about former fiancé Pete Davidson or any of her exes.
no drags.... no shade..... jus love, gratitude, acceptance, honesty, forgiveness ... and growth 🖤— Ariana Grande (@ArianaGrande) November 3, 2018
In fact, she sings about being in good terms with Pete, Big Sean, Ricky Alvarez, and the late Mac Miller. “Thought I’d end up with Sean, but it wasn’t a match / Wrote some songs about Ricky, now I listen and laugh / Even almost got married, and for Pete, I’m so thankful / Wish I could say, ‘Thank you’ to Malcolm ’cause he was an angel,” she sings in the first verse.
