JULIA MICHAELS Promises New Music Coming In January 2019
In 2017, pop hitmaker Julia Michaels finally burst into the spotlight after years of crafting smash hits for the likes of Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber and other high-profile artists. Needless to say, her debut album didn't disappoint.
Since then, Julia has not released any solo material aside from "Heaven" which was featured in the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack, and "There's No Way", a collaborative single with Lauv. That made fans wonder what's been taking the 24-year-old so long to put out new music on her own. As luck would have it, she heeded their call and shared her issues.
"So I've been super hesitant to put new music out and I think it’s just because I’m scared of myself and scared of having to compete and be compared to other people," she wrote on Twitter.
So I’ve been super hesitant to put new music out and I think it’s just because I’m scared of myself and scared of having to compete and be compared to other people. But I have so much I want to get off my chest lyrically. And I’m tired of always second guessing myself.— Julia Michaels (@juliamichaels) October 28, 2018
In another tweet, Julia announced that she'll be releasing a seven-track effort titled Inner Monologue in January 2019. WE. CAN'T. WAIT!
So I’m gonna put out 7 songs in January. And I’m calling it #innermonologue ... telling you this NOW so you can all hold me accountable. So I can’t hide. I love you guys. Let’s do this thing.— Julia Michaels (@juliamichaels) October 28, 2018
