‘Wonder Woman’ Sequel Release Date Moved To 2020
All this time, we've been barely surviving the days leading up to the release of Wonder Woman 1984, but this new development on the forthcoming sequel will surely shake you to the core. Lead star Gal Gadot announced via Twitter that the second installment will now arrive on June 5, 2020 instead of its originally scheduled release date of November 19, 2019.
As the Israeli actress notes, Wonder Woman is "back to its rightful home"—falling at almost the same date as the original film's release date back in 2017. But that's an additional seven months of waaaaaaaaaaiting. Read the official announcement below.
Super excited to announce that, thanks to the changing landscape, we are able to put Wonder Woman back to its rightful home. June 5, 2020. Be there or be square!!!— Gal Gadot (@GalGadot) October 22, 2018
The upcoming sequel reunites Gal with co-star Chris Pine who supposedly died in the first film but has miraculously appeared alive and well in previously-released stills from the much-anticipated film.
