‘Pinocchio’ Is Getting A Stop-Motion Musical Reimagining
There's another new movie to add to your queue! On October 22, Netlix announced that award-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro will write, produce and direct a stop motion musical version of Pinocchio which tells the classic tale of a wooden puppet who turned into a real live boy.

In a press release, del Toro said: "No art form has influenced my life and my work more than animation and no single character in history has had as deep of a personal connection to me as Pinocchio." He later added that he "wanted to make this movie for as long as I can remember.”
The Shape of Water creator's version of Pinocchio will be set in Italy in the 1930s, and will be based on Gris Grimly's design (as shown below). Production on the forthcoming animated musical will begin this fall.
