Fans of the Disney animated classic Aladdin are about to dive straight into a whole new world with the forthcoming live-action remake. To mark the start of the adventures within the port city of Agrabah, the first teaser trailer for the film has been released.

The one minute and 27 second-long sneak peek begins with a breathtaking view of sand dunes before a bird—presumably Jafar's parrot Iago—can be seen heading towards the Cave of Wonders. “Only one may enter here,” it roars. At the end of the clip, Aladdin (played by newcomer Mena Massoud) discovers the lamp.

The live-action Aladdin version also features Will Smith (Genie), Naomi Scott (Jasmine), and Marwan Kenzari (Jafar).

The film, which was shot on practical stages in London and on location amidst the desert vistas of Jordan, will hit theaters May 24, 2019. But for now, watch the first teaser trailer below.
