JONA, SAM MANGUBAT Deliver Two New, Powerful ‘Himig Handog 2018’ Entries
Over the years, Himig Handog helped propel aspiring songwriters and up-and-coming artists to the spotlight—take for example Moira dela Torre who interpreted the controversial "Titibo-Tibo" in 2017, and KZ Tandingan with "Mahal Ko o Mahal Ako" in 2014. On it's 9th year, the highly anticipated songwriting and music video competition, with the theme "Love Songs and Love Stories," introduced 10 new original compositions culled from more than 5,000 entries sent by Filipinos all over the country and abroad.
Here are this year's finalists:

"Hati Na Lang Tayo Sa Kanya" by Joseph Santiago; interpreted by Eumee
"Kababata" by John Michael Edixon; interpreted by Kyla and Kritiko
"Mas Mabuti Pa" by Mhonver Lopez and Joanna Concepcion; interpreted by Janine Berdin
"Para Sa Tabi" by Robert William Pereña; interpreted by BoybandPH
"Sa Mga Bituin Na Lang Ibubulong" by Kyle Raphael Borbon; interpreted by JM de Guzman
"Sugarol" by Jan Sabili; interpreted by Maris Racal
"Tinatapos Ko Na" by Sarah Jane Gandia; interpreted by Jona
"Wakasan" by Philip Arvin Jarilla; interpreted by Agsunta
"Wala Kang Alam" by Martin John Arellano and Mel Magno; interpreted by Sam Mangubat
Each of the 10 songs will be performed live on ASAP, with Jona and Sam kicking it off yesterday (October 7) with stirring performances that will hit you right in the feels. Watch it below.
