DEMI LOVATO's Mom Breaks Her Silence On The Singer's Overdose And Recovery
Demi Lovato's mom Dianna De La Garza came bearing good news about her 26-year-old daughter's stay in an in-patient rehabilitation facility following an apparent drug overdose on July 24.
In an interview with NewsMax TV, De La Garza said: "I can honestly say today that she is doing really well. She's happy, she's healthy, she's working on her sobriety and she's getting the help she needs, and that in itself encourages me about her future and about the future of our family."
The interview also saw De La Garza recounting the moment she first saw her daughter in the emergency room. "She was in bad shape but I said to her, 'Demi, I’m here. I love you.' And at that point she said, 'I love you too.' So from that point on I never allowed myself to think that things wouldn’t be OK." You can listen to the full interview below.
"I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery," Demi wrote on Instagram after the frightening ordeal. "The love you all have shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side. I will keep fighting." And with her "hero" by her side, we're pretty sure her road to recovery won't be that much difficult.
