Former MYX VJ Among Those Vying For Miss World PH Crown
A newcomer in the world of pageantry, former MYX VJ Gianna Margarita Llanes emerges as one of the frontrunners in the 2018 Miss World Philippines pageant.
Gianna, who graduated in AB Communication at the Ateneo de Manila University, said she "took a leap of faith" joining the beauty pageant. Although she had been very insecure about her height and looks, the 23-year-old now vows to do everything in her power to bring home the coveted Miss World PH crown. She's particularly grateful for the Miss World PH for giving value to "a woman with intellect, personality, and the courage to stand up for what they believe in."
"She's the kind of queen that knows her crown isn't on her head, but in her soul." 👑 Nobody knows this, but three years ago, I screened to become a beauty queen, but did not pass. Since then, I thought I would be best a pageant fan watching from home in my pajamas (which I didn't mind, either!) as the prettiest girls get crowned. Thankfully, I took a leap of faith and found the @msworldphil, which looks beyond one's exterior, but values a woman with intellect, personality, and the courage to stand up for what they believe in as well. I'm so thankful to be part of the beautiful forty candidates for #MWP2018 and will promise to do everything in my power to win that crown! Aside from her brief stint as a MYX VJ, Gianna also served as a courtside reporter for the Adamson Falcons during the UAAP Season 77 and now as a courtside reporter for the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). She was also a radio DJ for Magic 89.9.
Coronation night for the Miss World PH 2018 will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on October 7. We wish you luck, VJ Gianna!
