Still in disbelief, Charlie opened up to E! News about his loss and what the late rapper meant to him. "I always thought that I'd be the one to help him get cleaned... and lead him to the path of a good, clean sober life," he lamented. "It's difficult to talk about it if you could probably imagine because I just felt like I didn't do enough after my tour to be around him."
The two had known each other for six short months but they became really good friends, sharing the same gym trainer and talking almost everyday. "I don't get a lot of friends who come into my life who I hit it off with so quickly." Mac's body might have the world but his spirit has given Charlie motivation to be a better person.
