LANY Announces Release Date For "Malibu Nights" With An Album Trailer!

After months of dropping singles and hints about their sophomore album, LANY has finally set the release date for Malibu Nights: October 5. The announcement was made through an album trailer cross-posted on frontman Paul Klein and the band's social media accounts, which also revealed that pre-orders will start on September 13.

WARNING: There may or may not be some 6-pack abs and bun exposure in there somewhere. All I can say is: BRACE YOURSELVES, LADIES. *wink wink*

As Paul shared in his caption, the 44-second video was shot in his own bedroom and bathroom! Accompanied by an excerpt of a fresh LANY track that screams of melancholy, the trailer seems to be a depiction of how he dealt with his widely-discussed heartbreak, as it shows him breaking down in tears, staring at his reflection, taking a shower, praying with his tattoed hands clasped together, and *OMG* cutting his gorgeous locks all alone—something he mentioned doing "to just switch things up" during my MYXclusive interview with the band last April 5, right before their sold-out, back-to-back shows at the Araneta Coliseum.

We also talked about their then-untitled upcoming album and its difference from their debut album LANY in terms of sound, feel, unifying artwork, "ethos identifiers," and more!

And since we know you're dying to sing along to their new (albeit unreleased) song—and you know how much we love lyrics here at MYX—here are the words to that short teaser:

There's no reason, there's no rhyme

I found myself blindsided by

A feeling that I've never known

I'm dealing with it on my own

Phone is quiet, walls are bare

I drink myself to sleep, who cares?

No one even has to know

I'm dealing with it on my own
