Soul Queen ARETHA FRANKLIN 'Gravely Ill' At 76

Legendary Soul artist Aretha Franklin is said to be "gravely ill" and is surrounded by her family and friends, according to reports.

Roger Friedman of Showbiz 411 who first broke out the news reported that the 76-year-old singer is in hospice care in her Detroit home with her family and close friends. "She has a great family, she's surrounded by love, and the world is sending prayers. All further announcements will be made by her family. We just want to send love and prayers."

Aretha's co-artists and fans expressed their love and support for the singer via Twitter.

Meanwhile, Beyonce and husband Jay-Z paid homage to the legendary singer during the Detroit leg of their On The Run II tour.

Dubbed as the 'Queen of Soul', Aretha Franklin's hall of fame career spans six decades, getting her start as a gospel singer before signing her first major record deal in 1960. She is widely known for her chart-topping hits such as "Respect", "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" and "Say A Little Prayer". She has 44 Grammy nominations with 18 wins under her belt and was the first woman to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. 

Her last album, "A Brand New Me" was released in 2017.
