Here's How STEVE AOKI Got NICKI MINAJ To Do Collaboration With Him
Over two years since Steve Aoki announcing his upcoming album Neon Future III, the American DJ-producer seems more than ready to finally drop his hugely anticipated project in September!
Speaking with host and fellow DJ Anna Lunoe for Beats 1, Steve revealed he'll be releasing a slew of "out-of-the-box" collaborations with artists (including Blink-182 who was first teased as a collaborator for the third album of his Neon Future series, and rappers) from different genres.
"I tried Nicki Minaj," he started to narrate of how he got the female rapper agree to work with him on a new song. "And I was like, I can't get through. I like, tweeted at her, and then she followed me. And then I DM-ed her, 'I've been trying to send you this record,' and she got it. And she's like, 'I love this record. I really wanna do this record.'" So there you have it, people. Expect a combination of rap and electro house music in the near future!
