Demi Lovato has finally released an official statement about her recent overdose.

In an open letter she posted on Instagram, the songstress admitted, "I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I've learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet."

Demi expressed her appreciation to family and fans who have stuck with her since the report of her hospitalization came out. "I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery," she wrote. "The love you have shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side. I will keep fighting."

There's no mention of being released from the hospital or if she'll undergo rehab despite reports last week.
