“Eto Na! Musikal nAPO!” Will Make You Fall In Love With APO's Greatest Hits Again!
When we attended the official press preview of 9 Works Theatrical and Globe Live’s production Eto Na! Musikal nAPO!, we knew that it would rekindle our love for APO Hiking Society’s greatest hits. But it also opened our eyes to something even greater.
The musical is the perfect blast from the past, taking the audience back to the 1970s along with the distinct lifestyle, fads, and even the Martial Law situation. It is also packed with pop culture references from that time so you’ll surely laugh and be entertained easily if you can relate. But if not, you can simply ask your Titos and Titas!
The story revolves around a group of college students who want to join a singing and songwriting competition. They're faced with the challenge of creating the perfect song while hurdling their own personal issues and the political turmoil. The musical may be set in the 1970s but it's highly relevant today.
Pop stars Mark Bautista and Rita Daniela lead the cast which includes Sab Jose, Jef Flores, Jon Abella, Marika Sasaki, and Jobim Javier whose father happens to be none other than APO member Danny. They perfectly delivered comedic moments and touching eye openers that even millennials must see.
Director Robbie Guevara was able to tell a compelling story with the use of over 25 APO songs, proving that APO Hiking Society’s legacy in the music scene really transcends generations. But more importantly, another APO member - Jim Paredes - found the musical delightful!
Was thoroughly surprised and delighted watching Eto Na! Musical nAPO! last night. Standing Ovation from the audience. I know I am a biased source. But I urge you to see it. You may even want to see it again.. and again. Congrats to 9 Works . Tickets available at ticket world— Jim (@Jimparedes) August 3, 2018
