Fans had mixed reactions when Ariana Grande earlier announced that one of the songs off her upcoming album Sweetener is named after her fiancé Pete Davidson.

She has since defended her title choice, telling fans on Twitter, at one point that "life’s too short to be cryptic n shit about something as beautiful as this love I’m in." Preach.

And then, just a few weeks before Sweetener's release, the "No Tears Left To Cry" hitmaker changed the track title from "Pete" to "Pete Davidson." When one fan inquired what prompted Ari to change the title, she answered: "[I] like the way it looks. [I] love his name and i love him. [M]usic lasts forever. [It’ll] outlive any tattoo, any memory, any anything, even myself so i want my love for him and how i feel to be a part of that." Preach. Again.

Sweetener is due this August 17.
