No rain can stop hundreds of music fans as they still flocked to the Filinvest City Event Grounds last July 28 to witness the first ever Toyota Music Fest! Attendees had the time of their lives as they were treated with an awesome lineup that included 14 talented acts from the local music scene!

What better way to kick off this event than to have The Ransom Collective perform their hits on stage?

Next up is December Avenue, who gave us all the feels with their hit songs that included “Sa Ngalan Ng Pag-Ibig”. Fans wanted to hear their newly-released single “Kung ‘Di Rin Lang Ikaw” but frontman Zel Bautista said that they want to reserve it once they can be joined on stage by Moira Dela Torre.

Performing “SUNRISE”, “Maybe The Night”, “Ride Home” and “Kathang Isip” is 9-piece band Ben&Ben! The Toyota Music Fest crowd couldn’t help but sing along to them!

One of the crowd favorites – IV Of Spades, also graced the stage to perform their well-loved hits “Hey Barbara”, “Where Have You Been My Disco?”, “Mundo”, and their latest single “In My Prison”, which is currently doing well on the MYX charts!

Giving the fans a little throwback treat is Cueshe who performed their classic hits including “Stay”, “Sorry”, and “Ulan”!

Serving another dose of throwback music is Rivermaya! Fans enjoyed singing along to “Umaaraw, Umuulan”, “Elesi” and “Kisapmata”! They also performed their song under Star Music called “Manila”! Rivermaya – whose members include Mike Elgar, Nathan Azarcon and Mark Escueta, was joined by Ira Cruz during their set. Mark then asked the crowd if they’re familiar with Nathan and Ira’s band before performing their cover of “Noypi” which was originally performed by Bamboo.

Talk about feels – Silent Sanctuary never fails to give it to us! The crowd went on an emotional ride when the band performed their hit songs “Bumalik Ka Na Sa’kin”, “Sa’yo”, “Kundiman”, and “Ikaw Lamang”!

2018 Vios Cup celebrity racers Fabio Ide, Troy Montero, Diego Loyzaga, Sofia Andres, Chie Filomeno and Sam Milby also graced the event – just before their much-awaited race which happened last July 29 in Filinvest, Alabang!

Of course, the highlight of the night was when Toyota finally unveiled the brand new Vios! Take a look at this absolute beauty!

Continuing the music extravaganza is 6cyclemind who treated the crowd with their well-known hits, which include “Sandalan”, “Kasalanan”, “Trip” and their cover of Teeth’s “Prinsesa”! “Ulan lang yan, Pilipino tayo!”, frontman Tutti Caringal told the rocking crowd.

Callalily also took part in this awesome music fest! Frontman Kean Cipriano sported a “Support Filipino Music” tee – perfectly suited for the event! The crowd sang along to the band’s hits “Stars”, “Pansamantala” and “Magbalik”!

The crowd then rocked out to Sponge Cola who played their hits "Bahaghari", "Tuliro", "Bitiw", "Kunwari", "Jeepney".

Next up was Hale who performed their classics “Kung Wala Ka”, “Blue Sky”, “Kahit Pa”, “The Day You Said Goodnight” and their latest track “My Beating Heart” – taken from their latest album “Alon”!

We can’t help but feel nostalgic with Ebe Dancel’s set as he performed our favorite hits – “Tulog Na”, “Prom”, “Hari Ng Sablay” and “Makita Kang Muli”!

The crowd went wild when Parokya Ni Edgar entered the stage! Frontman Chito Miranda admitted that they didn’t prepare a particular setlist for this and instead asked the crowd for song requests! And to their fans’ delight – PNE granted it! They performed “Buloy”, “Para Sa’yo”, “Silvertoes”, “Harana” and “Halaga”. But the highlight of their show-stopping set was when Chito asked two members of the audience to come up on stage to perform “Bagsakan” with him – and they did not disappoint!

Capping off this historic night is the one and only Ely Buendia! Accompanied by a full band, Ely performed his track “Gabi Man, May Araw Din” as well as timeless Eraserheads hits including “Alapaap”, “Ligaya”, “Pare Ko”, “Overdrive”, “Spolarium”, “Magasin” and “Ang Huling El Bimbo”.

Despite the rain, the crowd still stayed from start to finish to enjoy their favorite OPM hits live! We’re definitely hoping that this won’t be the last Toyota Music Fest! What a way to celebrate OPM!
