Thirty years later, Ogie Alcasid is nowhere near the end of his career. In fact, the OPM hitmaker has a lot planned for his future in the music industry—or at least until 2019.

During the press conference for his upcoming 30th anniversary concert, the Pinoy music icon revealed that he is in the process of writing a musical told through his music. Following the successes of OPM-inspired musicals like Sa Wakas, Rak of Aegis, and Ang Huling El Bimbo, the Kapamilya network is following through with one of their own.

At the moment, Ogie's musical is still in the brainstorming phase, but he has disclosed that he's been thinking of doing a contemporary story with a middle-aged person as the main character. Asked who he imagines playing the role, he told the media: "Actually, nagulat din ako. I was working with the writer and the director, 'di ko alam na ako rin pala yung gusto n'ya [na maging lead.]"

Preparations for the musical is expected to be completed by next year. Until then, we can sing along to Ogie's most iconic hits with a star-studded lineup for his much-awaited concert this August 24!
