HONNE, ANDERSON .PAAK Captivate Filipino Music Fans In Back-To-Back Concert!
The Karpos Live concert series goes on and it's a blast! Mix 1.2 was a back-to-back spectacle show at the Vertis Tent that featured London-based duo Honne and American rapper and producer Anderson .Paak.
Fans of both international acts were all stoked to see their live sets as hundreds were still filtering into the venue’s entrance as the main show started a little later than expected. Local band Dayaw was there to serve as an opening act.
The evening got off to a breakout start, thanks to Honne’s impressive live performance that kept their fans “warm on a cold night”.
Of course, they played their newly released singles such as “Me & You”, “Location Unknown” and “I Got You”.
It was Honne’s second time here in Manila and Filipino fans gave them one of their best gigs on their recent tour as the packed crowd sang along in unison to their songs. The duo is already looking forward to their return to the country.
The duo closed their set with their hit “Day 1" - a crowd-favorite that will be part of their upcoming album Love Me / Love Me Not this coming August.
Anderson .Paak went onstage around midnight but his set certainly did not disappoint his eager fans. Known for his heavy hip-hop roots mixed with R&B and funk, he blew the house down with the help of his backing band, The Free Nationals.
The crowd erupted with the opener “Come Down”, taking the energy inside the venue went to a whole new level. The rapper declared his love for Manila and sent lots of flying kisses as he enjoyed seeing the reception of the fans to his set - especially when he performed his hit “Bubblin’”.
Showed off his jaw-dropping skills on the drums, the prolific artist was all smiles and never looked tired throughout his show. He sang notable jams like “Luh You”, “Am I Wrong”, “Suede”, and “The Bird”. His show was definitely the icing on the cake that was already wonderful night for Filipino music fans.
If you missed this awesome concert, Karpos Live will have another back-to-back concert on August 23 that features London-based singer-songwriter Tom Misch and Australian electronic-rock indie band Vancouver Sleep Clinic.
