Michelle Williams - one-third of the 90s girl group Destiny's Child - has revealed that she sought help from a mental health institution following years of raising awareness to take care of herself after going through depression.
In a lengthy post on Instagram, Williams proudly shared how she learned to recognize that she needed help in order for her to make sure her mental health is well-taken care of.
"For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it's time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care for your wellbeing," Williams wrote in a statement. "I recently listened to the same advice I have given to thousands around the world and sought help from a great team of healthcare professionals."
Hoping to be an inspiration to the others, she added: "Today I proudly, happily and healthily stand here as someone who will continue to always lead by example as I tirelessly advocate for betterment of those in need."
