JK LABAJO Plays First Ever Gig With New Band JUAN KARLOS
Now 17 years old, Juan Karlos Labajo has really came a long way from his The Voice Kids days. Though JK is still in the process of finding himself artistically speaking, his taste in music has matured and he's become really adept at creating original material. This "change" was evident in his recent MYX chart entry “Demonyo (Redefined)”.
Much like his former coach Bamboo, the talented singer-songwriter just formed a band which was named after him: Juan Karlos. The four-piece rock outfit is composed of Abe Hipolito on lead guitar, Louise Bayas on bass, Gian Hipolito on drums, and of course, JK on vocals and rhythm guitar.
We witnessed the first ever gig of Juan Karlos as MCA Music’s Basktubaktubak Bar Tour kicked off at 12 Monkeys! We caught up with the band after their nice set to talk about their new single called "Buwan". According to JK, the blues rock track was inspired by “someone” and he just let his songwriting do all the talking.
Juan Karlos is set to release an official music video for “Buwan” plus their debut EP later this year. Check out our MYXclusive interview below!
