KRIESHA CHU Opens Up About The Challenges Of Being A Foreign Artist In Korea
It's no secret that the Korean music industry is hard to break into, and Kriesha Chu—the Fil-Am K-Pop idol—admits that she has experienced the tough reality behind all the glamor firsthand. Speaking with MYX, the 19-year-old star confesses that her success as a foreign solo artist in Korea has always been "one of my worries."
"That is something that I think kind of doesn't go away," she said. "There's a lot of things that I had to deal with, not only being a foreign K-Pop artist but also as a foreign solo artist. It's kind of like a very hard position." But according to Kriesha, she wanted to prove that a foreign artist can be a successful solo K-Pop act—especially a Filipino.
Kriesha, who has no other dream but to be a singer since she was a kid, joined K-Pop Star 6: The Last Chance which brought out her passion for her own music. But the teen performer is also not closing her doors on acting in a teleserye with Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla or a Korean drama with Lee Min Ho! Let's watch out for that in the future, shall we?
