Admit it or not, recent attacks in multiple festivals and concerts has everyone on edge. So when fans heard what seemed like gunshots during Eminem's headlining set at the Bonnaroo Festival, several people ducked and panicked.

In a video taken during the rap icon's track “Kill You” from The Marshall Mathers LP, people can be heard screaming after the gunfire-like sound effects.

Many then took to social media to slam Eminem for the realistic gunfire sounds which has some fans shaken up while there were also those who came to his defense, pointing out that the rapper has been using the effects for years. See differing tweets below.

Eminem's camp issued a statement shortly after, explaining that the sounds came from pyrotechnics and had been used in his shows over the past 10 years. "Contrary to inaccurate reports, Eminem does not use gunshot sound effects during his live show," the statement reads. "The effect used by Eminem in his set at Bonnaroo was a pyrotechnic concussion which creates a loud boom. He has used this effect—as have hundreds other artists—in his live show for over 10 years, including previous US festival dates in 2018 without complaint."
