John Mayer's new single “New Light” has a crazy new video and we’re easily obsessed with it! The song, which premiered on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show, was produced by No I.D. who is known for his works with JAY-Z and Kanye West. Mayer had previously teased fans prior to its release that it would be summer bop and was reminiscent of cool blue-eyed soul from the 80’s filled with disco vibe guitar riffs.

"New Light" is his first new song since the release of his 2017 album, The Search for Everything wherein he sings about heartbreak and “pushing 40 in the friend zone”. Classic John Mayer, right?

Summer bop drop imminent 🌞

The Fatal Farm-directed music video makes good use of the "power of the green screen" and is labeled by Mayer as “Premium Content”. The award-winning songwriter posted this on Instagram, "I needed to make a video for New Light but nobody could agree on a budget, so I went to a place downtown and made this with a company that usually does birthday and Bar Mitzvah videos.".

Very cool, Mr. Mayer.
