LISTEN: KHALID Drops Two Separate Collaborations In One Day
Haven't you noticed it yet? Khalid is taking over our lives! The American Teen artist has dropped collaborations after collaborations with both breakout and high-profile singers since the release of his debut album in 2017. And today, he released two!
The 20-year-old hitmaker earlier hinted on a teamup with Ty Dolla $ign and 6lack on the track "OTW", but his duet with Billie Eilish on "lovely" came as a complete surprise. In a recent interview with Zane Lowe on his Beats 1 radio show, Billie explained how Khalid came over their house to hang out with her and her brother, and ended up writing a freakishly good song.
Lyrically, "lovely" alludes to being happy about being miserable. "Isn't it lovely, all alone / Heart made of glass, my mind of stone / Tear me to pieces, skin and bone / Hello, welcome home," they sing over the hauntingly beautiful tune.
Meanwhile, "OTW" is an upbeat track more similar to Khalid's signature melodies. "Put it in drive, I'll be outside, I'll be on the way / I'll be on the way / You can meet me in five, I'll be online, I'll be a-all day / I'll be a-all day," he sings on the chorus before both rappers take turn belting their lines.
