ZAYN Says He Wrote "Let Me" While In Love With GIGI HADID
The sad news of Zayn Malik's breakup with longtime girlfriend Gigi Hadid is still fresh in our minds. It has only been a little over a month when the gorgeous pair confirmed their devastating split on Twitter, both assuring fans that they still have respect and love for each other.
Talking on On Air With Ryan Seacrest, the 25-year-old R&B artist opened up about the inspiration behind his latest single "Let Me"—which, btw, is his then-gf Gigi. “I was in love and I think that’s pretty evident and, yeah, I was aspiring to be in love with someone for the rest of my life and the rest of theirs, as we all do." Ouch.
He added, “Things change, we move forward in life, times change but, yeah, that’s what I was thinking when I wrote it.”
"We go through experiences so we have memories and we have stories and things to write down and you know, contemplate and think about. You get to really put your experience into something that's going to be remembered forever," Zayn said.
It's also interesting to note that his love interest in the official music video for the track bears a resemblance to the 22-year-old supermodel. Check out the visuals for "Let Me" below and be the judge.
Zayn has been consistently tight-lipped regarding the details of his sophomore album, but assured fans that it will drop soon. And we're hoping against hope that there's a chance he and Gigi would get back together.
