WATCH: KESHA Officiates A Same-Sex Marriage In "I Need A Woman" Video
Kesha—an outspoken advocate for the LGBTQ community—puts a queer-inclusive spin on the Janis Joplin hit "I Need A Man To Love" as her contribution to the Universal Love album, a collection of reimagined wedding songs. Her version was retitled to "I Need A Woman".
The "Rainbow" singer traveled to Las Vegas for the wedding of lesbian couple Dani and Lindsay. In the emotional visuals directed by Kesha's brother Lagan Sebert, the 31-year-old hitmaker officiated the ceremony on March 26th, the anniversary of the first same-sex marriage license issued in the United States.
The music video is intercut with interviews with the newlyweds and Kesha while the latter sings in the background.
The Universal Love album, helmed by MGM Resorts, also features Bob Dylan, Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard, St. Vincent, Valerie June, and Bloc Party's Kele Okereke.
