LOOK: How To Spend Valentine's Day If You're Single
I have a confession to make: I am a grinch when it comes to Valentine’s Day. Most people view February 14 as the day for lovers—giving each other flowers and chocolates and teddy bears, going to movie or dinner dates—that others tend to feel lonely and unloved. But the truth of the matter is that love takes many forms, sometimes more than we can actually count. So if ever you're feeling left out today, we got some ideas to get you moving this V Day:
Work your ass off. For sure, most of your colleagues have already left the office earlier than usual to go on a date with their special someone. It would be the perfect opportunity for you to finish all leftover paperwork so you'll have the whole weekend to relax. Don’t be so hard on yourself finishing everything up for the whole night, though. Have some time for yourself, too.
Spend time with your loved ones. Today is the most perfect time to go out with your family and friends to dinner, or make home-cooked meals since nearly all restaurants are fully-booked. Watch movies together in the living room, play games, and share stories with one another. Nothing beats quality time with the people you love most and have been there for you since the beginning of time.
Extend a hand to the needy. You may not have a special someone to take you on a date today, but there sure are a lot of people out there that needs to feel that they are loved and treasured. Volunteer for a charity or act on your own, it doesn't matter.
Attend mass. Besides today being Valentine's Day, it’s also Ash Wednesday. Spend the day with God, and thank Him for everyone who has made you feel loved one way or another.
Try speed dating. Well, if you’re a hopeless romantic and won’t let today pass uneventful, you might as well participate in a speed dating event like VJ Ai. Maybe you'll meet your "The One", and if not, well, there's always a next time. Watch the video below and find out if VJ Ai found her match:
