Karen Jane Ng
It's no doubt that SHINee was one of the first groups to introduce us to the K-Pop world during the early 2000s. Their exceptional musical style and choreography captivated Pinoy hearts and brought us into this incredible scene. And yes, we're very much thankful for that.
In light of the tragic passing of the band's Jonghyun, we take a look back at some of our favorite SHINee songs, and the late singer's solos - a voice that'll forever be missed.
SHINee debuted in 2008 under SM Entertainment with their first EP, Replay. They were consisted of five members Onew, Taemin, Minho, Key and Jonghyun.
Off of their EP of the same title, the song gained them the Disk Bonsang Award at the 27th Golden Disc Awards and the Bonsang Award at the 22nd Seoul Music Awards.
4. "Ring Ding Dong"
This chart-topping track gained popularity over Asia; an undeniable banger that later made them a bigger and more influential K-Pop act.
It's music video was co-produced by Jonghyun.
Taken from their second full-length album, "Lucifer" is their top-selling digital song in the US and gave them the Disc Bonsang and Popularity Awards in the 25th Golden Disc Awards.
8. "Dream Girl"
9. "Stand By Me"
This song was included in the official soundtrack of the popular Korean drama Boys Over Flowers.
10. "Deja Boo"
Jonghyun kicked off his solo debut with this track in 2015 off of the mini album BASE, with the help of rapper Zion T.
11. "She Is"
Taken from his first full-length solo album released in 2016.
It was released in April this year featuring Girls' Generation's Taeyeon.
Your talented contribution to these masterpieces totally prove how well you've done, Jonghyun-ah. We are proud of you. Rest in peace.
