MYXclusive: PHILIA Launches Music Video For “Disease“!
Rock band Philia released a music video for their song “Disease”, the long-awaited follow-up to their 2014 debut video “Killers”.
The music video features band vocalist Arci Muñoz in the central role as a woman going through a breakup. "She finally realized that it's time for her to move on. So she went all out one night, she goes crazy," the singer-actress shared during our MYXclusive interview.
According to "Disease" director Jeremy Jay Abaño, it was filmed for 10 days in different locations all over Metro Manila. They thought of casting Ellen Adarna for the role but eventually Arci stepped in. Aside from being in front of the camera, the latter also had some directorial input.
Drummer Ash Heywood said that everything in the music video is as real as it gets since they were really drinking during the party scenes.
As for the meaning of the song, Arci explains: “Once a cheater, always a repeater. Cheating is a disease!” Since she experienced a bad breakup recently, the band found the perfect timing to release it as an official single. “And I think a lot of people also can relate to it. Kasi a lot of people got cheated on by their exes," the Philia frontwoman added.
Watch out for "Disease" on MYX soon! In the meantime, here's our MYXclusive interview with Philia during the music video launch!
