MYXclusive: GLOC-9 Celebrates Two Decades In The OPM Scene With “Rotonda”!

Gloc-9 celebrates two decades of being in the OPM scene with the brand new EP Rotonda!
The rapper explained why he named the EP after a traffic circle, "Ang title po nito ay Rotonda dahil sa tagal ko na din dito sa trabaho na 'to, ang dami ko na ding na-realize - na ang mga tao at events sa buhay ko ay paulit-ulit lang din."
In fact, he reunites with music icon Joey Ayala in the title track - which he still finds hard to believe. "Sobrang hanggang ngayon natutulala pa rin akong nakasama ko si Sir Joey sa kantang 'to."
Several albums later, Gloc-9 proves that there are more stories that need to be told. His latest record features six collaborative tracks - two of which are rooted from social issues.
"Yung "TRPKNNMN" (read as "trapik na naman") featuring Agsunta tungkol siya sa traffic... Yung "Norem" ("meron" in reverse) featuring J Kris, Abaddon and Shanti Dope is about drugs," he shared.
Twenty years and his goal remains the same: "Patuloy pa rin akong makagawa ng kanta." But Gloc-9 actually longs for a time when he'd having nothing left to write about, "Sana wala na akong maisulat na social issue dahil ibig sabihin noon ay maayos na yung bansa natin."
Rotonda will be out in record stores and digital platforms on October 16, just in time for his 40th birthday. Happy Birthday, Gloc-9!
