MYXclusive: SLAYER Gives Fans Unforgettable Show During Repentless Tour In Manila
Red Rain was destined to fall at the Kia Theater last October 11 as the legendary thrash metal band Slayer conquered the country for the first time ever.
Part of their their Repentless 2017 tour, the Manila leg was the show many Filipino metal fans have been waited for a very long time. And as expected, the two-time Grammy Award-winning band killed their set and made their Philippine show very memorable for their die-hard fans.
Despite supposedly being banned from moshing during the show, fans still had a good time during the hour and a half set of their favorite thrash metal band. Tracks like “Disciple”, “Bloodline”, “Raining Blood”, “South Of Heaven”, “Seasons In The Abyss”, and of course “Angel Of Death” were among the songs included in the setlist.
It was indeed an experience of a lifetime for Pinoy fans who attended as they were treated to not just a great set of songs but given a total audio-visual attack with excellent stage setup and lighting. The night was a surreal one for the crowd especially after seeing original Slayer members Kerry King and Tom Araya take the stage.
Repentless is Slayer’s 12th studio album and the first without their original guitarist Jeff Hanneman who died in 2013. Gary Holt, who also from the band Exodus took over his position. Likewise, drummer Paul Bostaph of Exodus and Testament is now touring with the band.
Moreover, several local musicians were present during the show and shared their experiences.
