The force of Star Wars' ninth installment may be with you a little later than expected as showrunners moved its released date in December 2019 instead of May of the same year.
It came after director Colin Trevorrow was replaced to helm Episode IX by 2015 The Force Awakens' director J.J. Abrams.

Walt Disney Pictures said of the changes (via E! News), "Colin has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process but we have all come to the conclusion that our visions for the project differ. We wish Colin the best and will be sharing more information about the film soon."
It seems the odds of re-writing the film are likely to happen especially after the death of one significant cast member, Carrie Fisher. Meanwhile, mark your calendars because Star Wars: The Last Jedi is coming this December 15th just in time for Christmas.
