YouTuber Emman Nimedez - who battled acute myeloid leukemia, a type of cancer which affects the bone marrow - has passed away at age 21. The sad news was confirmed by the "Teka Lang" singer's girlfriend Peachy Santos via his official Facebook page.
Emman revealed that he was diagnosed with the said disease in an emotional vlog last May. A month after, he informed everyone that things went well after his first cycle of chemotherapy.
On July 24, he shared a selfie on his Instagram account to let his followers know that he was already discharged from the hospital and continuing his medication at home. "Sa wakas makakatulog na rin sa sariling kama uli hahaha," he wrote.
The fun and optimistic guy even shared that he finally got the chance to shoot some video content for his vlog last August 7.
On August 9, Emman tweeted that he is in need of blood donors.
He was brought to the ICU of St. Luke's Medical Center in Quezon City last Thursday and passed away at 1am today. According to Peachy, he was with family during his passing and they're thankful to everyone who offered prayers and showed support in his battle.
Aside from being a content creator since 2011 and becoming known for his nickname Pambansang Oppa in 2017, Emman also ventured to music this 2020. He independently released the singles "Teka Lang" in March, "Kung Pwede Lang" in April, and "Uuwian" last July 30. He reached 1 million subscribers on YouTube last April 18.
You will be missed, Emman.
