The Batman star Zoe Kravitz shared her excitement about one particular aspect of the upcoming Matt Reeves film — her Catwoman costume!
Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the 31-year-old actress said that she's in love with her catsuit. "I think if this hadn’t happened, it [the Catwoman suit] would have probably come out by now," Zoe said in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. She added: "I love it….Yes, the tone of this film very much feels like its own thing. It’s funny, I didn’t really think about how difficult it is to make something as simple as a catsuit original. It’s like, how do you invent the jean jacket? It’s jean, it’s a jacket. What do you do? But Jacqueline Durran, who’s our amazing costume designer, is just a genius."
On the entire process of filming the DC standalone flick, she shared: "It was cool to be a part of the process because sometimes with films this big, it can be very much, ‘Put this on, stand over there, say this,’ and Matt [Reeves] is very much about process."
Zoe also added that she read Batman: Year One to prepare for her role. This confirms previous rumors that the Robert Pattinson-led film will draw inspiration from the Frank Miller classic which follows Bruce Wayne's return to Gotham and his first year as the Dark Knight. We're more stoked than ever!
More details about The Batman are expected to be revealed at the first-ever DCFanDome, happening on August 22! The film itself is slated for an October 2021 release.
