Let the one without a bangs horror story cast the first stone. Yes, almost most of us have taken the courage to never trim our own fringes again after failing once (or twice... actually, the number of times doesn’t really matter anymore at this point.) Anyway, now that going to a salon is a serious health risk, you may be once again tempted to try again. But, before anything else, you might want to put the scissors down and take cues from these YouTubers.
Here are 4 ways to cut your own bangs without messing it up:
1. Full Bangs
If you want to go big and cover your entire forehead with cute and feathery strands of hair, then a full bangs is for you. The key here is to make sure that your hair is properly parted before you start sectioning a small triangle of your front hair. Clip the rest of the hair in place and start cutting little by little until you get to your desired length.
2. Curtain Bangs
If you want a little more subtle style, then maybe you should try curtain bangs instead as this will only cover the sides of your face. To start, section off a small portion of your front hair and keep the rest out of the way. After this, part the section into two and start cutting diagonally on each of those.
3. Curly Bangs
This technique is perfect for all of our curly haired peeps out there. Remember that it’s important to do this when your hair is dry. Create a U-section using your front hair and tie the rest of your hair so it won’t disturb you. Next, pull small portions of your strands and cut them vertically at an angle.
Styling your own hair should be a fun (although nerve-wracking) experience. Since it looks like we’re not going to the salon anytime soon, we might as well experiment as much as we can. Just relax, and you’ll soon be a master of your own fringe.
