Ahead of the official Chromatica release, Lady Gaga spoke in detail about her newest album and the highly touted collaboration "Sour Candy" with Korean girl group BLACKPINK.
The pop megastar revealed to Japanese media outlet tvgroove that she was the one who called up the ladies to ask if they're down to collaborate. "They were very happy and motivated," she recalled. "I wanted to celebrate them because I love powerful women like them and they also wanted to celebrate me."
"I had a great time together making this song. I was excited to hear them interpret the song in Korean and told them that the part was so creative and fun," she added. "I was amazed to hear their singing voice. They are beautiful young women, really talented, and I am proud to be the fifth member of BLACKPINK [on this song.]"
Chromatic arrives tomorrow, May 29. The massive 16-song album features previously released tracks "Stupid Love" and "Rain On Me" with Ariana Grande which just debuted at #1 on the MYX Daily Top 10.
