This week has been nothing short of crazy for Joker star Joaquin Phoenix. In a dramatic turn of events following his Golden Globes win for Best Actor, Joaquin got arrested in Washington, D.C. for "unlawful demonstrations."
The Oscar nominee attended a climate change protest called Fire Drill Fridays, spearheaded by fellow actor and political activist Jane Fonda.
During his speech, Joaquin addressed the meat and dairy industry and their impact on climate change as the third leading cause. "I think sometimes we wonder what we can do in this fight against climate change and there’s something that you can do today, right now, and tomorrow, by making a choice about what you consume," he said.
The weekly movement which focuses on climate crisis started in October and is now on its 14th run. Even Fonda got arrested for five times following the protests. Apocalypse Now actor Martin Sheen was also arrested in this week's protests.
