Hailee Steinfeld will be ringing in the new year with a new song. The singer-actress revealed the song title to be "Wrong Direction" due out January 1st, and is expected to be the first release from her highly anticipated debut studio album.
However, fans' excitement was overshadowed by speculations that the new track is a diss on Hailee's ex-boyfriend Niall Horan who was once a member of global boyband One Direction. The former couple dated in 2018 and quietly called it quits after a year.
A report from HollywoodLife states that "Niall is not losing any sleep over Hailee’s upcoming single." The insider also added, "You have to write about what you know, whether it is heartache and heartbreak or the love of your life. This sort of thing is going to happen all the time and Niall is totally cool with whatever she has to do for her career, even if it ends up bashing him."
Haiz has neither confirmed nor denied the speculations. Guess, we'll find out for ourselves when the song drops in a few hours!
