Music legend Prince's recently-released memoir The Beautiful Ones has become a controversial piece for the late singer's choice words regarding the state of today's music.
In the memoir co-written by Dan Piepenbring, the "Purple Rain" hitmaker expressed his displeasure over the state of pop music prior to his death in 2016. He would then voice out his dislike of pop phenoms Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran who've been dominating the airwaves for years. "We need to tell them that they keep trying to ram Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran down our throats and we don’t like it no matter how many times they play it." Whoa there.
The eccentric singer-songwriter passed away in 2016 after a fatal drug overdose.
