Maroon 5's latest music video is as simple as it gets. All throughout the three minute-long clip, vocalist Adam Levine chose to put emphasis to the lines in the song with only his face zoomed in against a black backdrop.
As the video comes to an end, the screen fades to black and reads "For Jordi"—pertaining to the group's longtime manager and friend Jordan Feldstein who died of heart attack at the age of 40 in December 2017.
Adam spoke about honoring his late friend in the "heavy song" to Ellen DeGeneres earlier this week: "I had just gone through losing my manager and best friend. I was in diapers with this guy. And he passed away recently, and so this song came to me at a very interesting time."
He continued, "I filled in the holes with the proper words that I thought would match the experience that I had been going through. It's very heavy. I have never had a song about anything quite like this. I miss him everyday and to me this is the best way to pay tribute to him."
