UP Fighting Maroons' side-stepping forward Ricci Rivero brought his charm to the big screen for his film debut in the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival entry OTLUM. But then the 21-year-old hotshot shifted his focus back to basketball and eventually made his return for Season 82 of the UAAP.
Ricci still wants to pursue an acting career in the future, and if given the chance, he would want to try doing an action film someday. In a video posted by ABS-CBN Sports, the former MYX Celebrity VJ explained his adoration for the genre. "I find it really interesting," he said in the video. "My first sport is really taekwondo, so I'm really into those kind of things. Gusto ko din syempre masubukan na gagawin siya on cam."
His first acting experience also led Ricci to appreciate the craft more. "Dati, iniisip ko na parang normal ka lang. Gagawin mo lang 'yung parang normal mo lang, sasabihin mo lang lines mo sa kasama mo. Hindi pala siya ganoon, kailangan pala i-take mo yung different angles. Hindi pala siya basta-basta lang."
As for a possible leading lady, the newbie actor told MYX before that he is willing to work with anyone. "Kung sino naman po yung mai-pair sa'kin, wala naman po ako problem with that kasi ang gusto ko lang naman is to learn something from, syempre dito sa project na 'to."
Meanwhile, will Ricci steer his new school to victory against the undefeated Ateneo squad? The Battle of Katipunan tips off at 4pm on ABS-CBN S+A, iWant and livestream.
