When you think about the mid-2000s band explosion, one of the acts that comes to mind is definitely Sugarfree. And fast forward to today, their music still lives on. A true testament to the legacy they've already cemented in OPM.
The band's former frontman Ebe Dancel took a little trip down memory lane on Instagram and celebrated the first ever show they played as a band. He wrote: "It was 20 years ago today. Sugarfree's first show was August 28,1999. Posting this to thank everyone who allowed me to dream and share my thoughts with the world. To Mitch, Jal, Kaka, and all the great musicians who joined us along the way, i am grateful for you. To the fans, you have changed our lives forever. I hope i make you proud every day. The band is gone, but the music plays on."
Originally consisting of members Ebe, Jal Taguibao and Mitch Singson who was later replaced by Kaka Quisimbing, the band achieved mainstream success with their breakout hits such as "Kwarto", "Burnout", "Prom" and of course, "Hari Ng Sablay" which even spawned its own comedy film. What's your favorite Sugarfree song?
