THIS. IS. AWESOME! *clap clap clap clap clap* WWE's resident Irish ass-kicker aka the Celtic Warrior Sheamus came to the country last Thursday to promote the global pro wrestling giant's upcoming Manila show.
A grueling 24-hour flight didn't faze our "fella" who was pretty game to interact with the Filipino WWE Universe at the ultra-packed Skinny Mikes Sports Bar in BGC. The luck of the Irish was definitely on our side as we got to see him in the flesh!
The WWE champ did a 40-minute Q&A sesh with fans and press people in attendance where he talked about his humble beginnings, fitness, and time away from the ring. Sheamus has been out of action for months now recuperating from a career-threatening spinal injury but he assured everyone that his days as a WWE superstar are far from numbered. In fact, he's determined to go after the Intercontinental championship, a title he has never held in his illustrious WWE career.
Sheamus also thinks a pure-blooded Filipino wrestler can one day make it to the "big leagues" as they say and represent our country. "Of course they can, absolutely. They absolutely can," he said. "You know, it doesn't matter where you're from. It's all about the individual and how much passion they have to want to do this."
After his press con and fan meet, he then proceeded to film an upcoming episode of his hit YouTube web series 'Celtic Warrior Workouts' showcasing some of our local martial arts.
#WWEManila2019 happens on September 20 at the Araneta Coliseum brought to us by the good folks over at Wilbros Live!
