Since becoming a MYX Bandarito artist and releasing their debut album last year, CHNDTR is slowly but surely becoming a favorite in the alternative rock band scene. Just ask their rapidly growing fan base called Mimaws who passionately sing their hearts out in every gig. From beginning to end, they are joy to watch.
The self-confessed #hugotcore band composed of Sean De Leon on bass, Benjo Criste on drums, Chin Detera on vocals and guitars, plus their new guitarist Niko Bacani knows how to effectively connect to the live audience with their signature bittersweet lyrics and the eccentric tempo shifts in their tracks. Just listen to their popular single “Martyr” to see what we mean.
Just last weekend, the band launched their brand new music video “Sulat”. Although the song was not included on their first album Habang Umuulan, the band revealed that it was written back in 2013. In fact, it was a sequel to their previously released single “Kulang.”
During our MYXclusive interview, Chin shared the song's story. "Dalawang taong nagmamahalan, pinilit pa nila pero in the end hindi talaga sila para sa isat’-isa. Kasi natagpuan na nila talaga ‘yung tao na para sa kanila, pero pinipilit nila doon sa luma. So kailangan mo lang palayain ang sarili mo, at s'ya."
Watch out for the music video soon! In the meantime, get to know the intriguing concept of “Sulat” by watching this MYXclusive interview with CHNDTR:
