It’s only been half of 2019 yet this year is already proving to be one of Skechers’ Filipina Ambassador Nadine Lustre’s best yet. Aside from bagging the Best Actress awards on the 67th FAMAS Awards and 42nd GawadUrian for her outstanding performance in the film Never Not Love You, the multimedia queen is back to dominate the silver screens with the biggest dance musical film of the year, Indak.
We’ve seen her rule the dance floor every Sunday on noontime show ASAP with her fierce production numbers, and bust her sensual street moves on her acclaimed music video “St4y Up”. And with her upcoming dance-centric movie “Indak”, you’re about to witness more of Nadine Lustre’s dance prowess like you’d never seen before. “Indak” centers on the journey of island girl Jen (Nadine Lustre), who has always been passionate about dancing. When Vin (Sam Concepcion), a member of the prestigious dance group IndakPinas, convinced her to be part of his team as they compete at the World Dance Championship in South Korea, Jen is yet to find out if her passion for dancing is enough to overcome her stage fright and insecurities. The movie is produced by Viva Films and directed by Paul Basinillo.
Nadine’s role as the determined dancer is something that’s close to the actress’ heart. The 25-year-old actress is known for being one of the most hardworking stars in the industry today. Like Jen, the Skechers Ambassador has a firm grasp of what she wants and she works hard to get it. Whatever she sets her eyes on--whether it’s acting, dancing, singing, or hosting, the young woman strives to be the best on that field by doing everything a hundred percent. "We're super excited. It will have a lot of dancing and a lot of production numbers. That’s what I’m looking forward to”, Nadine Lustre shared in a report by ABSCBN’s Push. Nadine Lustre also noted that she went through rigorous dance training for her role in Indak.
Apart from being a well-acclaimed actress, Nadine Lustre has been a celebrated performer through the years as well. Her fame has gone on ultra heights with her acclaimed RNB songs “St4y Up” under James Reid’s record label Careless Music. Her sensual, fierce street dance choreography matched with her upbeat fresh music has earned nods from the audience and entertainment critics, which helped her bag the “Artist of the Year” at the MYX Music Awards 2019. Her fashion sense has been well-documented by the fashion gliterrati too, as she has championed the right mix of sexy and fierce in her street fashion choices. A big part of her street fashion aesthetic is her choice of footwear.
Skechers, the world-renowned lifestyle footwear brand from the USA, has mastered the swag of street fashion, and street dance style, too. Skechers is supporting its Philippine brand ambassador Nadine Lustre in her newest dance film project Indak, as dance has always been part of Skechers’ brand DNA. Locally, it’s famous and now iconic high school and collegiate dance competition “Skechers Street Dance Battle” has inspired generations of some of the best hip hop dancers across the country.
Even before that, when Skechers launched in the Philippines in 1995, it grew inpopularity as it figured prominently in dance productions of noontime show ASAP. As Skechers sneakers were popularly worn by ‘90s local dance groups, it made history in both fashion and dance artistry.
Nadine in Indak serves as the perfect muse for Skechers shoes that are designed for street style and dance such as the best-selling D’Lites, and the new Skech-Air collection! Notably, we’ve spotted, Nadine and her crew busting moves and looking lit in their favorite D’Lites pair while shooting their music video for Indak.
