Rak of Aegis—an original Filipino musical based on the music of OPM rock legend Aegis—is back for a seventh season. In its return, the musical phenomenon has enlisted the service of OPM icons Noel Cabangon, Randy Santiago, Jenine Desiderio, and Bayang Barrios.
Running from July to September 2019 at the PETA Theater Center, the critically-acclaimed production will showcase its newest ensemble, with Randy alternating for the role of Fernan, Noel for the role of Kiel, while Jenine and Bayang will share the role of Mary Jane.
The four OPM artists will join returning cast members Aicelle Santos, Robert Seña, Isay Alvarez-Seña, Jerald Napoles, Kim Molina, Pepe Herrera, Kakai Bautista, Renz Verano, and more.
Rak of Aegis tells the story of Aileen, a young girl with a big voice who dreams of achieving viral fame on YouTube and guesting on the Ellen Degeneres show. While Aileen’s motives at first seem shallow, she later reveals that it is because she wants the world to know of her barangay’s condition: submerged in flood for almost three months, with their livelihood and health all slowly drifting off with the waters.
