Although the Philippines appear to be one of the more "accepting" countries when it comes to the LGBT community, there's so much more than acceptance that we, Filipinos, need to learn and understand. For one, Cinema One Original's comedy film Si Chedeng at Si Apple asks the most important question: Is there an age limit for coming out?
The film, which is directed by Rae Red and Fatrick Tabada, centers on 66-year-old Chedeng's quest to find her ex-girlfriend shortly after her husband died. And with her best friend Apple, who beheaded her live-in partner in a fit of rage, joining the party, you can just imagine how crazy the adventure would be. See the trailer below.
Si Chedeng at Si Apple and other award-winning films will be part of PelikuLAYA sa Cine Lokal: An LGBT Film Festival in celebration of Pride Month. The film festival takes place from June 22 to 28 in SM Manila, SM Sta. Mesa, SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, SM North Edsa, SM Fairview, SM Southmall and SM Bacoor. See you there!
