The Script returned to the Philippines for the fourth time for the Manila leg of their Freedom Child Tour! Once again, we witnessed their astounding energy while performing live and making all of their fans in the jam-packed arena feel so loved!
The Irish band delivered on their promise to put on the most interactive show that their fans will ever witness! As soon as they opened with “Superheroes” and “Rock The World”, Scripettes remained exuberant for the next two hours.
Here's drummer Glen Power smiling for our camera during the opening moments of their concert.
“Manila, it’s been too long since we’ve been in this beautiful city of yours. But we’re back and we’re going nowhere in the next two hours,” said vocalist Danny O’Donoghue. He also shared how the Philippines feels like home every time they are here. “You guys are so welcoming,” he exclaimed.
The band unleashed their Irish pride as they painted the whole arena green during “Paint The Town In Green”!
It was followed by a parade of superb hugot hits popularized by the trio such as “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved”, “Nothing”, and “If You Could See Me Now”. They also performed new songs from the album Freedom Child like “Wonders”, “Arms Open”, and “No Man Is And Island”, coupled with colorful stage lights and visuals. At one point, they even brought bamboo bikes onstage to entertain their Filipino fans.
One of the night's highlights was when they went to the back of the arena for an intimate performance. Danny, Glen, and Mark Sheehan were surrounded by adoring fans as they played “If You Ever Come Back” and "Never Seen Anything Quite Like You”!
Danny had a "nice walk" around the lower box area of the arena while belting out “The Energy Never Dies” so he could meet more fans up close!
The Script closed their set with the lead single of their latest album, "Rain"! Fans shouted "more" loudly as the stage went dark for a minute.
Of course, they returned onstage with Danny holding the Philippine flag. Their encore included the songs "No Good In Goodbye", "Breakeven", and "Hall Of Fame"! "The only way we can say thank you is to keep coming back again and again," the ever energetic Danny promised!
