Himig Handog gem Marion Aunor has a new home! "I'm very excited for what's to come and I'm very grateful for my new VIVA family," the singer-songwriter said of joining the agency which is home to Jadine and Sarah Geronimo.
A bit of a thrill-seeker, Marion believes she can challenge herself on VIVA. "I feel like I've gone through all the phases like soulful pop-ballad to sexy edgier thing tapos EDM. So I really don't know what to do with myself anymore and I just wanted to kind of revive my career sa local front. I feel like VIVA is perfect vehicle for that to happen."
VIVA dared Marion to write in Filipino which she hasn't done in her 4-year career. She created the track "Ikaw Pa Rin Ang Pipiliin" for the movie Pambandang Third Wheel starring Yassi Pressman and Sam Milby.
"It's the first Tagalog song that I wrote so I'm very excited for people's reaction to that," she shared. Now she has plans to come up with an all-Filipino EP inspired by her original "hugot-piano" roots.
During her time with former label Star Music, Marion wrote songs for the likes of Kathryn Bernardo and Alex Gonzaga. She also produced Leila Alcasid's upcoming first single. She still dreams to work with more artists like Sarah Geronimo which is very possible now that they share the same label.
Despite her new career move, Marion promises to stay true to herself. "I'm just gonna do my own thing and hope that people like it. I don't know if it's better than anyone else but it's my own sound," Marion said. "So I guess you should just take it or leave it as it is. If you like it, then that's cool. If you don't like it, then just move along."
